Pay & Benefits Summary
Salary and Wages
Base hourly wage or salary is determined by position and qualifications. Base wage or salary may increase as determined by several factors, incuding FTE, length of employment, job performance, skills and credentials.
Mileage and Expense Reimbursement
Accend reimburses mileage incurred while delivering services, and some other prior-approved activities. Other work expenses (such as purchase of resources, training, and travel) are reimbursable with prior approval.
You will document mileage on your timecard, associated with the service or activity to which you travel, and be paid mileage expenses on each paycheck.
Paid Time Off
All permanent employees, full-or part time at 0.6 FTE or higher, accrue Paid Time off. For more information about PTO, read the Paid Time Off and Leaves of Absence Policy.
Health and Dental Insurance
Accend pays a portion of individual health insurance and full family dental premiums. While we offer more than one health insurance product, the employer-paid portion is based on the lowest premium plan. Accend also offers a match on HSA contributions. Both the employer portion and HSA match are adjusted for FTE as follows:
FTE | Premium Match | HSA Match |
1.0 (Full-Time) | 90% of Premium | $50/month |
0.9 (36 Hours/Week) | 80% of Premium | $45/month |
0.8 (32 Hours/Week) | 70% of Premium | $40/month |
0.7 (28 Hours/Week) | 60% of Premium | $35/month |
0.6 (24 Hours/Week) | 50% of Premium | $30/month |
New employees are eligible to enroll in the health and denta insurance plans after 90 days of employment. We review plan options annually, in an effort to find the best possible insurance products for our annual renewal each May 1st. Every April, you will be offered the opportunity to attend and informational session to learn about the health insurance products we offer and change your plan choice if you wish.
Life, Long-Term, and Short-Term Disability Insurance
All employees of Accend are invited to enroll in Life Insurance and Long-Term and Short-Term Disabilty Insurance. We pay the premiums for this coverage in full.
Retirement Savings (401K)
All permanent employees are eligible to participate in the 401K retirment plan. Accend matches employee 401K contributions up to 4% of annual earnings.
Technology (Equipment) Match
Some employees are eligible for matching contributions and payment plans through Accend for purchase or upgrading of laptops and tablets. See Human Resources for more information on this benefit.
FAQ
What is FTE, how is it determined, and can I change mine?
FTE is Full-Time Equivalency. It is determined by the number of hours you work per week. Some positions require full-time and if you work in one of these positions, your FTE may not be negotiable. For others, you may choose the number of hours you want to work. Keep in mind that pay and benefits will decrease when changing to a lower FTE.
Do I accrue PTO during my first 90 days?
Yes. While you may not use PTO during your first 90 days, you accrue paid time off from day one. The amount you have accrued will appear on your first paycheck following your first 90 days of employment.
Can I take time off without pay?
During your first 90 days, time off for illness or family emergency is unpaid. After 90 days, unpaid leave is authorized for certain situations only, as defined in our Paid Time Off and Leaves of Absence Policy. In all other circumstances you must use accrued PTO for time off.
What is an HSA and what happens to my HSA if I have to quit my job?
An HSA is a Health Savings Account. Like contributions to a retirment account, the amount you contribute to your HSA is deducted from your paycheck pre-tax.You may withdraw from your HSA at any time to pay for medical expenses. You do not need to use up your HSA contributions every year, but may carry them over from year to year if you do not spend them.
Just like a retirement account, your HSA contributions are yours for life. If you have to leave Accend, you may continue to use your HSA account for qualified medical expenses and even insurance premiums.
